The two of them together, Kale and Trever, once they got past the original anger at each other, were like one person. They didn't talk to each other, but clearly communication happened, with a gesture, an expression or sometimes nothing at all. The two of them sat under the Ebon Hawk, fiddling with what appeared to be the shell of a droid.
Both of them were dressed alike and with heads bent over different pieces of machinery, it was nearly impossible to tell them apart. They didn't even talk as they worked. Occasionally one would hold out a hand and the other would put a tool in it, or give a spare part, or help hold something. Their movement was fluid, never a hesitation or a wondering what the other wanted. Never a touching to get the other's attention.
Even though they were working on two separate things, they were able to know what the other wanted.

He pulls up a ways back on the swoop he'd purchased for easier house-hunting and gets off, noticing them both. Bao floats out of the bag across his shoulder, toodles, and zips into the Hawk. He's heading for the ramp in himself, but pauses long enough to give them a, "Hey, you two," as greeting.

The other one, Trever, just grunts and doesn't bother to look up.

Trever gets a short glance. The Exile isn't really surprised about the reaction.

"That'd be great." He smiles again.
"And a large bed," Trever says suddenly, looking up at Tobias.

He gives Kale a grin but blinks at Trever's sudden comment. "A large bed. Sure thing," he concurs, a little perplexed but not put-off at all.

He sounds a bit unhappy at Kale's attachment to the other man, but he also seems to be working on it.
no subject
"Yeah. I'll see about getting one large enough."

Trever is, however, giving Tobias the evil eye.

"Right. I'm going to go review what I got with Bao. You two stay out of trouble."

Still, he limps his way up the ramp and will likely be up there for a couple hours, discussing with Bao.
... And then he heads back down a ways (leaning on his cane now) to peer at the two. "Trever. Could I talk to you?"

"Feel free to sit." Which Tobias proceeds to do.

"I'm not going to dance around this, because I frankly don't have the legs for it," he says. "Kale loves you, and he loves me. And he'd like to see us actually get along instead of... constantly fight for his attention and his affection. Honestly, I'd like the same thing, so if you don't mind, I want to extend the metaphorical olive branch to you." And maybe a Force Bond, but that'll be a little later, possibly, though he can't exactly control when that happens.
no subject
"I don't know if I can do that," he says stiffly.
no subject
"Would you prefer to fight me over him, then? I'm certain he'd be miserable if we did," he replies gently.
no subject
"I want him to be happy."
no subject
"Then we can at least try to get along? For his sake?" He smiles, just a touch. "And you might find I'm not such a horrible guy to be around."
no subject
"And what do you want in return?"
no subject
"Though it'd be nice to see you smile on occasion."
