Obviously Kale was going to have to kill Carcer. It was the only way. He thumped down the stairs plotting murder, in search of Tobias. Really, did he have to tell Revan? And did Revan have to even bring it up? And then give him that sort of 'you need to tell Tobias' thing?

"Tobias?" he called out as he reached the bottom of the stairs.

"You're you." Which will not be the case later, as it were~ "You have the freedom to choose how things go for you."

"And yet you say that things won't go the way I want them to, if I continue the way I do." Yes, but they don't know that yet.

"Now when did I say that?" He shakes his head a bit as if to dismiss the question. "It might come as a complete surprise," he murmurs, with a trace of sarcasm that's gone for the next bit, "but I don't know everything about the Force."

"Oh really?" He laughs softly and then turns serious. "What did you mean about that bit about Trever's hold over me?"

He rumbles quietly. "The dreams. And I know you're borrowing knowledge from him and he from you, over what I assume would be a distance that would dull the perception of other bonds. And I've heard that sometimes you don't... act like yourself."

He shifts uncomfortably against Tobias. "I don't mean to... it just happens."

He nuzzles Kale's hair lightly. "I know. It's not your fault."

He laughs softly again, though it's a bit off kilter and not quite Kale like. If a person had to be put to it, it most resembled Carcer. "No, I suppose not."

That gets his brow furrowing and his head tilting. That didn't sound right at all to his ears. He pulls back a ways to look at him. "You okay? You sounded a little... off... just then."

"Yeah, I'm fine." Kale smiles at him a Carcer smile.

... Okay, now that's a little bit creepy. "You're sure about that?"

He reached up a hand and gently stroked Tobias' face, "Yes, I am, Tob'ika."

The stroking is okay, but the nickname makes him flinch. "Where did you hear that name?"

Kale pulls back a look of uncertainty on his face. "I...heard it?"

Tobias twitches a confused and concerned frown. "There's only one person who's ever called me that, and only to my face." And to Carcer, but he doesn't know that.

Licking his lips nervously, Kale looks just as confused. "I... know I heard it...I remember it."

Tobias furrows his brow. "From who? Rev'ika wouldn't have said, he knows better."

He closes his eyes and tries to remember. He knows he's heard it before. But from who? "I... don't know..." he says finally.

He frowns a little and reaches to ruffle Kale's hair. "Don't worry about it." He'll do all of the worrying. Who could know that besides Revan?

He leans into Tobias. "Are you going to stop teaching me?"

"I shouldn't keep teaching you," he says, but after a brief moment, adds, "but then I shouldn't have taught Atton or Bao-Dur or the others. No. You need to be trained; your time needs Jedi Knights."

He grins a bit. "Good. I want to be trained. I want to be a Knight." I want to be a Jedi my father would be proud of.

He smiles. "And you will be. I promise."

"I hope you can keep that promise," he says, flopping down so his head was in Tobias' lap.

"So do I," he murmurs. He blinks at the flop, reaching his hand down to stroke Kale's hair.
